A. M. Mahbub Uddin

MAHBUB & COMPANY was founded and is headed by, A. M. Mahbub Uddin, Barrister-at-Law, a highly reputed and experienced lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh with right of audience before the Appellate Division, the highest court of the country. In his two decades in the legal profession, he has acted as counsel in several high profile cases in the Supreme Court and advised many market-leading corporations in their legal affairs. Mr. Uddin represented Occidental Petroleum Corporation (USA) in its large-scale dispute with the Government of Bangladesh in 1997 and has acted as counsel for a former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and several former Ministers. Mr. Uddin obtained degrees from the University of Dhaka and the University of Wales, Aberystwith, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1994. He is the present Secretary-General of the Supreme Court Bar Association and an elected member of the Qualifications and Enrolment Committee of the Bangladesh Bar Council, the highest regulatory body for lawyers in the country. He has served as a Member of Parliament during the 2008-2013 session and concurrently as a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In his time as Member of Parliament he was involved in the promulgation of a number of economically important laws such as the Competition Act, Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duties Act, Insurance Act, etc.


Mr. Nazmul Huda, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh

An experienced practicing Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Mr. Nazmul Huda is a senior member of the litigation and corporate teams. He obtained permission to practice in the Hon’ble High Court Division in 2003 and since then he has been delivering legal services on litigation and corporate matters to a wide range of clients. His areas of specialization includes Public and Administrative Law, Criminal law, Property Law, Taxation, Commercial Law and Employment Law.


Mr. Saqeb Mahbub, Barrister-at-Law, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh

An Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh having experience of providing legal services to international organizations of repute. He obtained his LLB (Hons) and LLM Degrees from the London School of Economics, UK, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales from Lincoln’s Inn, UK in 2009. Saqeb Mahbub has extensive experience in corporate and commercial litigation, documentation and advice. During his time at his previous firm, he advised and represented Wells Fargo Bank, Pepsi Co, TVS Motors, Grameen and Bangladesh Bank among others. At Mahbub & Co. he advises and represents Honda, Mostafa Group, UNDP, MGH Group, Nandan Kanon Housing Ltd, Elite Technologies Ltd. etc. He specializes in company formation and restructuring, international commercial law, banking Law, employment law, arbitration and intellectual property law.

Mr. Md. Taherul Islam Tawhid, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh


A dedicated practicing Advocate having over 13 years experience of handling disputes in diverse range of fields in the District and Sessions Court, Mr. Tawhid is a senior member of the litigation team with experience of representing clients in property, commercial, banking and family law disputes in court. Having completed his LLB (Hons) and LLM, he embarked upon practicing as an advocate in the District Judge Court, Dhaka in 2001. Besides his litigation work, Mr. Tawhid advises clients in matters relating to land registration, taxation, company and society formation and restructuring in particular.

Ms. Naima Zaman, Barrister-at-Law, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh


Ms. Naima Zaman is an integral part of the corporate and dispute resolution teams. Her experience is chiefly in litigation and arbitration in human rights, criminal, family and commercial matters. She recently represented a client in a high-profile construction arbitration involving the Government of Bangladesh. She completed her LLB (Hons) from the University of London, UK in 2008 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in the year 2009.

Mr. Shihab Uddin Khan, Barrister-at-Law, Advocate


Mr. Shihab Uddin Khan was called to the English bar in November 2011 after having obtained a post-graduate diploma in law from the University of the West of England, Bristol, LLB (Hons) from the University of London and a BA (Hons) from Jahangirnagar University. He is enrolled as an Advocate in the District and Sessions Court of Dhaka. Mr. Khan started his career in a solicitors’ firm in London during his stay in England. Ms. Nigora Khaydarova, Consultant


Ms. Nigora Khaydarova is an experienced lawyer with background in International and Comparative Laws. She obtained her Diploma in International Law from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Tashkent in 1996. As a legal counsel her career experience included American Bar Association, USAID, OSCE and private practice. She represented major international ventures and corporations in civil and criminal matters in Uzbekistan. Currently she also serves as a Representative of "VGP Legal" International Law Firm in South Asia with offices in Dhaka and Bangkok.

Mr. H M Shanjid Siddique, Barrister-at-Law, Advocate


He is enrolled as an Advocate in the District and Sessions Court of Dhaka. Completing his LLB (Hons) under the University of London International Programme in 2010, he pursued the Bar Professional Training Course from the Northumbria University, UK. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in the year 2011. He is especially skilled in criminal litigation and company matters. Moreover, he has vast experience of handling employment law matters before the Labour Tribunal and the Labour Appellate Tribunal. Mr. Siddique has worked in conjunction and collaboration with Gambourg & Borsen LLC, USA and John Sheard, Barrister & Solicitor (Canada) concerning property law and divorce issues.

Mr. Pabel Mia, Advocate


Mr. Mia is an energetic new face in the legal profession who has been enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council in 2014. Prior to his enrolment, he obtained his LLB (Hons) and LLM with commendable results. At Mahbub & Company, he is heavily involved in commercial and banking matters and assists senior counsel at hearings.
